Felip is active in the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA) the professional organization for the Qualified Intermediary industry. Felip received his Certified Exchange Specialist® designation in 2003. He is a member of the CES® Council, an internal governing body within the FEA formed to monitor, promote and maintain the integrity of the new Certified Exchange Specialist® designation. This designation was established by the FEA in 2003 as a means to encourage a higher professional standard in the industry. As one of the first FEA members to receive his CES® certification, and with his high level of involvement in the FEA, Felip keeps abreast of changes in the industry as they occur.
Felip is an active member of many Realtors® associations, including the North Central Washington, Lower Yakima Valley and Yakima associations, where he was named “Affiliate of the Year” in 2001.
Though exchanges are his profession, music is his passion. After graduating from Washington State University with B.A. in Piano and an M.A. in Choral Music, Felip went on to become Music Director at St. Paul Cathedral and an Adjunct Instructor of Music at Yakima Valley Community College. He currently serves as president of the board of directors of the Yakima Symphony Orchestra.
Felip maintains a high level of community involvement, including fund-raising activities for area hospitals and schools, and the sponsorship of a Little League baseball team. He and Leah, his wife of 21 years, have two children, Christopher, 15 and Elena, 11. His hobbies include hiking, fishing, strength training, computers and of course, classical music.
